"You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure." ~ Charlie Chaplin
I have always loved Charlie Chaplin – for his brilliant wit, and for his most gentle soul.
Oh, and that smile ~ with enough loveliness to light up this world.
In his most brilliant 1940 film, The Great Dictator, Chaplin takes aim at Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and the Nazi party...openly mocking them as, ""machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts".
Interestingly enough, for a man who built his career in the silent movie era - this was his first true 'talking film.'
And oh, just look at what he had to say.
Charlie Chaplin's epic speech, with just a splash of modern imagery. I was absolutely transfixed by this new rendition of this old classic.
Namaste, and much love this day...
